- 8th, the city council, I'm sorry, the City Planning Commission voted overwhelmingly to send the package of changes to City
- alongside neighborhoods. The planning commission made one change to our recommendations. The planning department proposed limiting the size
- of these homes to 1500 square feet, but the planning commission opted for slightly larger 1800 square feet. The key to
- idea, hearing loud and clear that the shared access was an issue. The Planning Commission voted to reduce the 40
- easement, or they can ask for a variance from the planning commission. This slide shows the long-term difference between the
- previous slide was an exaggeration, the Planning commission regularly sees entire blocks of nothing but narrow lots with full
- planning commission. Marty, thank you all and let me thank the, uh, uh, let me thank you Marty and members
- of the planning commission, uh, for doing an exceptional job and getting us to where we are today. So
- very much appreciate it. In fact, if you are with the Planning Commission members, please stand if you any
- people with the Planning Commission, bill Barn, I say. So thank you. Thank you all for being here. Okay, Madam
- the Y driveway. And when the planning commission made their recommendation, they removed that option. So that's the
- left are what was originally proposed that the planning commission removed from the option. But if you go to
- manuring and also the fact that the parking opportunity in the driveway will be lost planning commission after
- a moment. And in order to, from the planning commission, excuse me, department's perspective, protect the public realm
- doing what we're doing, but what we are proposing is alternatives for construction. Right now the planning commission has
- off with saying that I received a phone call yesterday from the city of Houston, the Planning Commission. I
- hope no one from the Planning commission or the City of Houston is discouraging public comment. And let, and
- been discussed from those of us at the Planning Commission. And it's the honor of my life to serve there
- . Already. People come to the Planning Commission and beg us to make changes and we say there is nothing
- it for three minutes. Sorry. Bill Baldwin is my friend. He's on the planning commission and he's also my
- to build storm water detention bases? Number one, have you on the fam uh, the planning commission conducted a
- job on the planning commission. Thanks. Thank you so much. Get me a house Next speaker, Marie Carlisle to be
- it rescinded? Was it rescinded prior to the Planning Commission vote? Um, I have sent a public document request
- quality of life meeting, which was six days after the public. I mean the planning commission meeting, this is
- requirements, and allow for more housing options. Livable Places Committee and Planning Commission have given you a
- , wonderful members of City Council Mayor Turner, um, and Director of the Planning Commission. Uh, I'm Micah Eron, president
- parking garage parking lot on both sides. How this all came about was the planning commission was taking up a
- a variance before the planning commission asking for close to 25 parking spaces. So we went from over a
- so many people came out, why they're upset about it. The way that the planning commission goes about
- doing things has to be changed. The Planning Commission got a letter. It was a, looks like a
- planning commission about it. She didn't. It was voted on with the letter still being there. I spoke to
- out at the Pass Planning Commission. Say, yeah, neighborhood has support, neighborhood has support. Look, all of
- names and claim that Planning commission has support. They didn't. This is obvious that they didn't have
- . We're bringing you these recommendations because these are being demanded by the constituents who come to the Planning
- Commission. Neighbors want these changes. They want to live in deed restricted neighborhoods that don't allow for the
- document request, was by the Department of Neighborhoods, Rhonda Saunders. This can't continue to happen. The planning
- Commission cannot go to the Super Neighborhood Alliance, get a letter that's not even voted on, pass it
- . What do we do to make sure that this doesn't happen? What do we do to stop the planning
- commission from sending out form letters and getting 'em signed? Look at the letter of support. Look at

- the response has been with the public hearings planning commission when y'all were out in community, if that's been
- was on the, that was presented to the planning commission last week is something that was not, that we

- don't know. But, uh, and then tied in with that, I'm also a member of the Houston Planning Commission. I
- feet that's there today, I took the, the lead on variances with the planning commission granting, uh, residents and
- heavily evolve. I have not seen yet seen these changes from the June eight planning commission, and I'm aware

- up to speed, there was a planning commission meeting on Thursday of last week. And, uh, we're having presentation from
- the planning commission meeting and previous, um, c city council on planning department meetings as well. So on the chat
- members spoke, um, towards during, um, planning commission, some of the other meetings. But like I said, whenever it
- to report that. I believe that would be with planning commission, with the planning department, but I'm not exactly
- , um, if there is, if it is that concert situation, uh, you'll be able to go before planning commission to
- , last week's planning commission meeting is that, um, that information and is that if there's a compelling reason
- , or is only one, one bought one lot that's been bought, um, they can go down to planning commission for
- , among, um, the Planning, planning Commission meetings is that whenever we talk about joint access or whenever we talk
- a great job as far as laying out all their information. But if you look at the planning commission meeting
- passed out of planning commission last Thursday as far as the exact language that will even be going to
- the livable Places action agenda items that planning commission reviewed last Thursday are about a whole lot more than
- that can take place, um, that we haven't been able to build. The planning commission did make a change
- to this. They proposed limiting the size of these homes. Um, we proposed 1500. The planning commission opted for
- infield development. We need more homes in Houston. The planning department, the planning commission, all of us understand
- . The planning commission didn't love it. And so what the planning commission did last Thursday night was they changed
- two week delay. We go back to planning commission the 22nd. That's it. Thank you, Tamara. Wish, keep us posted
- planning commission didn't take that into consideration when they made their vote because she redacted it before they
- stood up at the meeting in person and took it down before planning commission even gave their recommendation
