UH, OUR MOST RECENT ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT THAT WE JUST COMPLETED. UM, SOME IAH TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS, AND THEN ALSO SOME CONSTRUCTION UPDATES ON THE, THE PROJECTS THAT WE'VE GOT AT THE AIRPORT. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UM, SO HOBBY RUNWAY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. UM, SO THE TWO THERE, WE HAVE THREE RUNWAYS AT HOBBY. TWO OF 'EM ARE THE AIR, AIR CARRIER RUNWAYS, AND THEN WE'VE GOT A SMALLER GA RUNWAY. UM, THE ONE RUNWAY THAT WE'VE CALL, UH, HAVE 13, RIGHT? UM, THAT RUNWAY IS IN NEW, UH, NEED OF REPLACEMENT IN THE FUTURE. UH, IT'S BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE AND WE NEED TO, YOU KNOW, REDO IT. AND SO WE'RE GONNA HAVE A, A LARGE PROJECT THAT'S GONNA ENTAIL CLOSING THE RUNWAY, UH, TEARING OUT ALL THE CONCRETE, REPLACING ALL THE CONCRETE AND ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS THAT GO ALONG WITH THE RUNWAY. SO QUITE, UH, INVOLVED. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. SO, FROM MOJAVE AIRPORT PERSPECTIVE, THOSE ARE UNFAMILIAR. REMEMBER THE, UH, THE, THE WAY WE NUMBER THE RUNWAYS IS THE CARDINAL DIRECTIONS ON THE COMPASS. SO, 13, UH, POINTS DOWN TO THE, UH, SOUTHEAST. UH, AND ITS RECIPROCAL IS 31, UM, POINTING TO THE NORTHWEST. AND SO THE RUNWAY THAT YOU'VE GOT ON THE GREEN OVER THERE, UM, THAT IS WHAT'S GONNA BE REPLACED. SO WE'RE GONNA TEAR OUT THAT ENTIRE RUNWAY SYSTEM. UM, AND THEN WE'RE ALSO GOING TO, UH, REPLACE IT AND WE'LL DO SOME OF THE HIGH SPEED WORK OVER THERE, THE TAXIWAY EXITS, UH, ON THE AIRFIELD, AND THEN ALSO, AGAIN, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR THE, THE, THE RUNWAY. UM, RIGHT NOW WE ARE CURRENTLY IN DESIGN WITH THAT RUNWAY, AND WE'VE REACHED A POINT, UM, WHERE WE'VE GOT, UM, ENOUGH DESIGN COMPLETED THAT WE HAVE ALSO BEGUN OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS. AND SO WITH THAT ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS, UM, I WANNA TURN IT OVER TO KAREN TO EXPLAIN KIND OF WHAT HAPPENS WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS REAL QUICK. THANK YOU, JIM. SO FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS, WHAT WE'D REALLY DO IS WE EVALUATE, UM, UH, THE IMPACTS THAT THE PROJECT MAY RAISE. UM, AND THIS IS STANDARD PRACTICE FOR ALL PROJECTS, ESPECIALLY PROJECTS THAT, UH, REQUIRE, UH, FEDERAL, UM, FUNDING. AND THIS PARTICULAR PROJECT AS WELL IS VERY HEAVILY RELYING ON FEDERAL FUNDING. AND SO WE GO, UM, EVALUATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS ALONG WITH THE, UH, FEDERAL, UM, UH, FAA ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICE. AND WE REVIEW, UM, ITEMS SUCH AS WATER IMPACTS, CULTURAL IMPACTS. SPECIFIC FOR THIS ONE. UM, A CATEGORY THAT WAS OF INTEREST WAS THE NOISE IMPACTS, BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO BE MOVING TEMPORARILY, UH, FOR THE DURATION OF THE TWO YEAR CONSTRUCTION, WE'D BE MOVING TO OPERATING OFF OF ONE RUNWAY AS OUR PRIMARY COMMERCIAL, UM, RUNWAY. AND SO WE HAVE SUBMITTED TO THE FAA, UM, THIS PAST, UH, MONTH IN DECEMBER, WE SUBMITTED TO THE FAA OUR DRAFT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT. UM, AS OF RIGHT NOW, WE ARE ANTICIPATING THAT WE WILL BE GETTING FROM THEM SOON HERE, UM, FINDING OF NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT. UM, ALONG WITH THAT, UH, ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESS, [00:05:01] WE ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY, UM, UH, THE PUBLIC. AND SO WE WILL BE PUTTING, UM, A NOTICE AND, UH, COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE PUBLIC. WE WILL POST THAT ON THE HOUSTON CHRONICLE AS WELL AS ON OUR WEBSITE. AND THAT WILL BE POSTED HERE IN A FEW DAYS. IT'S APPROXIMATELY 30 DAY, UM, COMMENT PERIOD. UM, AT WHICH POINT THEN WE WILL GET A FINAL DETERMINATION FROM THE FAA, UM, SUBSEQUENT TO THAT, ABOUT APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS, UH, PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, WHICH IS, UM, IN 20, UH, UH, BEFORE THE HARD CONSTRUCTION STARTS. WE WILL ALSO SEND OUT, UH, INFORMATION TO, UM, RESIDENTS, UM, UH, CONCERNING THAT, UM, THE CONSTRUCTION. BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW, UM, THE HARD FINDING IS THAT, UM, THERE'S, IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THERE'S NOT SIGNIFICANT IMPACT. AGAIN, THIS IS FOR A SHORT DURATION PERIOD OF, UH, TWO YEARS OF CONSTRUCTION, OKAY. OVER . YES. AND, AND SO THE PROJECT WE ANTICIPATE IS GONNA BE, YOU KNOW, SOMEWHERE IN THE $150 MILLION RANGE. UM, WE'VE ALREADY RECEIVED FEDERAL GRANTS FOR THE DESIGN OF $7.5 MILLION FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AND WE'LL BE DOING OUR BEST TO GET EVERY CENT THAT WE CAN GET OUT OF 'EM FOR HELPING WITH THE CONSTRUCTION ON THAT. UM, AND SO WE'RE ANTICIPATING AT LEAST GETTING ABOUT 37 MILLION, BUT WE'RE GONNA ASK FOR AS MUCH AS WE CAN GET. UM, NEXT SLIDE. UM, SO AS KAREN DID SAY, UH, WE ARE GONNA BE PUTTING THAT PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD OUT LATER, UH, IN PROBABLY NEXT WEEK OR THIS WEEK. UM, THAT WILL BE OPEN FOR 30 DAYS. BUT THEN ALSO WITH THE RUNWAY PROJECT, WE ARE GONNA BE DOING AS MANY SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVES THAT WE CAN, UH, FOR THE PROJECT. SO WE WILL BE, UH, HEAVILY FOCUSED ON MAKING SURE THAT THE CONCRETE THAT WE PULL OUTTA THE RUNWAY, WE RECYCLE IT THE BEST THAT WE CAN. AND THEN THE LIGHTING SYSTEM THAT WE'RE GONNA PUT IN THERE IS GONNA BE AN LED LIGHTING SYSTEM. SO IT'LL SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF ELECTRICAL USAGE OF THE AIRPORT, UM, FOR THAT, FOR THAT PIECE OF INFRASTRUCTURE, BECAUSE OF THE FACT WE'RE GOING FROM INCANDESCENT DOWN TO, UH, LED LIGHTING SLIDE, UH, LED LIGHTING SYSTEM. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. ALRIGHT, SO YOU WANNA THANK YOU, . UM, SO THE NEXT THING I WANNA GIVE YOU AN UPDATE ON IS OUR ECONOMIC IMPACT STATEMENT. SO NEXT SLIDE. UM, SO GREAT NEWS ON THAT. UM, SO THE HOUSTON AIRPORT SYSTEM JUST COMPLETED IT. UM, WHAT WE'VE, UH, CONCLUDED, UM, IS, IS THAT THE AIRPORT SYSTEM ITSELF IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ABOUT 207,000 JOBS WITHIN THE REGION AND ABOUT $40.6 BILLION IN ANNUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT. UM, WITH THAT COMES ABOUT $13.2 BILLION IN LABOR INCOME. SO THAT IS THE SALARIES THAT ARE PAID TO THE EMPLOYEES THAT ARE WORKING AT THE AIRPORT. AND THAT'S, YOU KNOW, IMPORTANT FOR HOUSTON BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THAT GENERALLY IS GONNA GET POURED BACK INTO THE ECONOMY HERE. UM, ALSO ABOUT $2.4 BILLION IN STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ARE GENERATED THROUGH THE AIRPORT SYSTEM. AND THEN WE'VE ALSO GOT ABOUT $13.8 BILLION AND CARGO RELATED OUTPUT. AND SO, AGAIN, WE WANT TO REALLY CELEBRATE THAT. UM, NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. IF WE LOOK AT, UH, BUSH AND ITS TOTALITY, UH, AGAIN, ABOUT 157,000 JOBS THERE, ABOUT 30, UH, BILLION, UH, IN TOTAL. AND THEN AGAIN, UM, YOU CAN READ THE DATA THERE, BUT, BUT BUSH IS THE PRIMARY CARGO AIRPORT THAT WE'VE GOT AT THE AIR, UH, IN THE SYSTEM, SO ABOUT $12.5 BILLION IN CARGO RELATED ACTIVITY, WHICH IS IMPORTANT. 'CAUSE I DON'T THINK REALLY IT GETS A LOT, UH, OF ATTENTION THAT IT NEEDS, UH, JUST HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO HOUSTON. UM, THE AIRPORT SYSTEM, WE REALLY FOCUS ON MAKING SURE THAT WE ARE TRYING TO MATCH WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE GENERAL ECONOMY HERE, UM, SO THAT WE CAN SUPPORT IT. SO IF WE THINK ABOUT THE CARGO OPERATIONS HERE, UH, HOUSTON BEING ONE OF THE LARGEST MANUFACTURING, UH, METROS, UH, IN THE UNITED STATES, UH, THAT GOES HAND IN HAND. UM, THE CARGO PLANES HERE ARE GENERALLY PUSHING OUT A LOT OF, UM, UH, OIL, UH, AND, UH, EQUIPMENT THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN HOUSTON AND DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. SO VERY IMPORTANT TO THE, UM, OIL INDUSTRY IN THE TOWN. AND THEN WE'VE ALSO GOT, UH, PHARMACEUTICALS THAT WE WORK. UH, SO AGAIN, WITH THE MEDICAL DISTRICT BEING HERE, A LOT OF PHARMACEUTICALS MOVING BACK AND FORTH. UH, WE'VE GOT A RENEWED EFFORT RIGHT NOW ON THAT TO FOCUS ON THE AIRPORT, MAKING SURE THAT WE'VE GOT A GOOD ROBUST PHARMACEUTICALS, UM, NET, UH, UH, INFRASTRUCTURE. AND THEN ALSO WE'RE WORKING WITH THE GROUND HANDLERS THERE ON GETTING CERTIFIED, UH, TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE, UH, THE MULTIPLE, UH, DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES OF, OF, OF, UH, OF PHARMACEUTICALS BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT HOUSTON'S GROWING FROM A, UH, UM, YOU KNOW, MANUFACTURING HUB FOR PHARMACEUTICALS, NOT JUST ACTUALLY USING THEM. UH, NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. IF WE LOOK AT, UM, HOBBY, WHICH IS, YOU KNOW, AGAIN, A LITTLE OVER A SQUARE MILE, UM, THAT SQUARE MILE DOES, UH, DOES QUITE, QUITE A BIT OF INPUT. UM, SO YOU'VE GOT ABOUT $7.8 BILLION OF TOTAL, UH, ECONOMIC IMPACT FROM HOBBY AND ABOUT 41,000 JOBS, UH, THERE, UH, AGAIN, 2.5 BILLION IN LABOR INCOME. SO AGAIN, A LOT OF THAT'S GETTING POURED DIRECTLY INTO THE COMMUNITY RIGHT THERE. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UH, AND THEN WE CAN'T FORGET ABOUT ELLINGTON. UH, AGAIN, YOU'VE GOT ELLINGTON THERE, UH, ABOUT $2 BILLION OF OUTPUT, UH, AGAIN, THAT'S DRIVEN A LOT BY THE MILITARY THAT HAPPENS TO BE THERE. UM, AND THEN WE'VE ALSO GOT, UH, THE SPACEPORT ITSELF AND THEN THE GENERAL AVIATION ACTIVITY THAT HAPPENS THERE. UH, I THINK ABOUT THE, UH, LONE STAR FLIGHT MUSEUM. WE'VE GOT THE WINGS OVER HOUSTON EVENT THAT WE HOST EVERY YEAR THERE. UM, SO ELLINGTON IS, AGAIN, A VERY IMPORTANT PIECE, UH, AND IS CONTRIBUTING, AGAIN, THAT, ABOUT THAT $2 BILLION, UH, ANNUALLY TO THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE REGION. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. SO I WANNA ALSO GIVE YOU A COUPLE, SOME UPDATES ON SOME, UH, CUSTOMER EXPERIENCES THAT WE, UH, IMPROVED OVER THE HOLIDAYS PARTICULARLY. SO NEXT SLIDE. UM, SO NUMBER ONE, WE, UH, WERE ABLE TO GET THE NEW PARKING SYSTEM, UH, INSTALLED AT THE CDE GARAGE AT, UH, BUSH PRIOR TO THE HOLIDAYS. SO IF WE THINK ABOUT RIGHT NOW WHAT IT IS, UM, THIS IS FULLY INSTALLED AT HOBBY. UM, WE HAVE IT AT ECO PARK TWO, WHICH IS THE WILL CLAYTON, UH, ECO PARK, UM, AND THEN ALSO AT THE CDE GARAGE. UM, RIGHT NOW WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON, UM, THE AB GARAGE, AND THEN ALSO WE'LL BE DOING THE MAIN ECO PARK AT BUSH, UH, AND TRYING TO GET THAT DONE BEFORE THE SUMMER. THE KEY THING ON THIS IS, IS THAT THIS HAS ACTUALLY BEEN A, UM, A LOT OF OUR CUSTOMER DRIVEN, UH, COMMENTS WERE ABOUT OUR OLD PARKING SYSTEM. UH, THE FACT THAT THE, IT WAS HARD FOR THE BARCODES TO BE READ, AND IT WASN'T QUITE WORKING. THIS NEW SYSTEM, UH, WE'RE GETTING GREAT, UH, RESULTS ON. UH, IT ALLOWS YOU TO, UM, REGISTER, UH, WITH THE AIRPORT. UH, IF YOU PUT YOUR DATA IN, YOU CAN, UM, RE RESERVE YOUR PARKING SPOT WITH THE RESERVE PARKING SPOT COMES A DISCOUNT, UH, BUT THEN ALSO YOU PUT YOUR LICENSE PLATE IN THERE. AND SO NOW WHAT HAPPENS IS, IS THAT YOU WILL, UH, COME UP TO THE NEW SYSTEM, IT WILL READ YOUR LICENSE PLATE, THE GATE WILL GO UP, YOU'LL GO AND PARK, UH, ONCE YOU'RE DONE, YOU WILL GO TO THE EXIT, THE EXIT WILL READ YOUR LICENSE PLATE, AND OUT THE DOOR YOU'LL GO. AND THEN IT WILL JUST AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD CARD. SO, VERY EFFICIENT AND FAST AND FRICTION FREE FOR THE TRAVELING PUBLIC, UM, IF THEY WANNA DO THAT. IT ALSO COMES WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF IF YOU WANT TO PAY VIA APPLE PAY OR, OR, UM, THOSE KIND OF, UH, UPGRADED PAYMENT SYSTEMS THAT A LOT OF FOLKS HAVE NOWADAYS ON THEIR PHONES. UM, IT'S SUPPORTED IN THIS NEW SYSTEM. UM, WITH THIS NEW SYSTEM THOUGH, WE ALSO, UH, AGAIN, WERE REALLY, UH, SATISFIED WITH THE TRAFFIC THAT WE HAD OVER THE HOLIDAYS. UM, AND THAT'S BECAUSE OF THE FACT, AGAIN, MORE LANDSIDE AGENTS, MORE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS IN THE INFRASTRUCTURE THAT WE DELIVERED. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. SO, AGAIN, IF WE THINK ABOUT HOLIDAY TRAFFIC, UH, YOU KNOW, MY LAST PRESENTATION TO THIS MEETING WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT HOW WE WERE GONNA, WE WERE PLANNING ON MAKING THINGS BETTER FOR THE HOLIDAYS. WELL, THIS IS NOW ACTUALLY THE RESULTS OF IT. UM, SO IF YOU LOOK AT THANKSGIVING, UH, AGAIN, UP 3%, SO THAT'S A PRETTY SOLID INCREASE, UH, FOR WHAT WE DID ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. UM, NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UM, AND WITH THAT, WE DID GET THAT LANE OPEN PRIOR TO THANKSGIVING, AS WE HAD PROMISED. SO NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UM, AND WITH THAT, WE GOT THAT AGAIN, UM, YOU KNOW, BIG INCREASE, UH, BUT ALSO IT'S, UH, YOU KNOW, AGAIN, OUR ANNUAL INCREASE IS UP, BUT, UM, YOU KNOW, THE TRAFFIC, THE WAY WE MEASURE IT, HEAVY TRAFFIC WAS REDUCED BY ABOUT 80%. UM, AND THEN THE SEVERE TRAFFIC WAS REDUCED BY ABOUT 55% FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UH, AGAIN, FOR CHRISTMAS, UH, AGAIN, WE HAD A REALLY GOOD CHRISTMAS AS FAR AS BEING UP 12% OVER LAST YEAR. UM, AGAIN, OUR BUSIEST CHRISTMAS EVER, UM, AND AGAIN, INTERNATIONALLY DID REALLY WELL ON THAT. AND, AND THAT WAS VERY, WE WERE VERY THANKFUL FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE WE DELIVERED. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UM, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT WE GOT RID OF THAT, UM, BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, UH, OF THAT INTERNATIONAL TEMPORARY CURB, AND WE OPENED THE BRAND NEW ARRIVALS CURB, UM, WITH SIX LANES. UH, AND THEN WE'LL BE OPENING TWO MORE PRETTY SOON. UM, DURING THE HOLIDAY, ACTUALLY, THE CONTRACTOR WAS VERY GOOD TO US AND ACTUALLY GOT US A SEVENTH LANE FOR THAT PEAK, UM, RETURN, UM, WINDOW. SO AGAIN, IT WAS VERY, UH, SUCCESSFUL DOWN THERE. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. UM, AND THE RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. SO WITH THE INCREASE IN TRAFFIC THAT WE HAD, UM, HEAVY TRAFFIC WAS REDUCED BY ABOUT 90% AT THE AIRPORT, AND SEVERE TRAFFIC WAS REDUCED BY 99%. AND TO PUT THAT INTO CONTEXT, THIS HOLIDAY PERIOD, UH, SEVERE TRAFFIC HOUSTONIANS, UH, WERE IN, WE WERE IN THAT, UH, SEVERE TRAFFIC THRESHOLD AT BUSH FOR TWO MINUTES. SO WE'VE GOT ABOUT 150 THAT WE'RE GONNA BE ABLE TO OPEN, UH, ON TOP OF THAT. AND THE KEY THING IS, IS THAT WE'RE GONNA BE ABLE TO OPEN THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRAL PROCESSOR. SO WITH THAT ROADWAY COMES NOW, THE NEW TERMINAL IS GONNA START TO BE PARTIALLY ACTIVE. AND SO, UM, UNITED AIRLINES, UH, TERMINAL E OPERATIONS ARE GONNA MOVE OVER THERE. UH, RIGHT, I WAS, I ACTUALLY WALKED IT THIS MORNING WITH UNITED. AND SO, UM, THEY'RE GONNA BE CLOSING B UH, ON JANUARY 20TH. AND WE'RE GONNA BE, UH, AT THAT POINT, UH, BE TRAINING TO OPEN THE NEW ICP, UH, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT PRIOR TO SPRING BREAK, WE'LL BE ABLE TO OPEN THAT FOR UNITED TO BE ABLE TO MOVE IN THERE. SO, KEY THING ON THAT IS UNITED CAN MOVE OVER THERE. RIGHT NOW OUR, OUR, OUR EXISTING PROBLEM IS, IS TERMINAL C IS FUNCTIONING AS TWO TERMINALS IN ONE. UM, SO WE'VE GOT TERMINAL C AND E OPERATING THERE. UH, THIS WILL ALLOW US TO TAKE ALL THE TERMINAL E TRAFFIC AND MOVE IT TO THE NEW BUILDING. UM, AND SO THAT WILL DECONGEST TERMINAL, UH, C SO AGAIN, WE'LL BE TESTING AND, AND DOING OUR TRIALS IN JANUARY, UH, TO BE ABLE TO ALLOW US TO START THAT OPERATION IN FEBRUARY. AND THEN WE'VE GOT A, A SECOND PHASE TO THAT BUILDING, WHICH WILL BE, UH, LATER IN 2025. AND THAT'S WHEN THE FOREIGN AIRLINES WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE INTO THAT BUILDING, UM, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THEY'RE, UM, WE'RE WORKING ON THE BAGGAGE SYSTEM, UM, TO BE ABLE TO CONNECT THE NEW BUILDING WITH THE EXISTING SYSTEM. AND BAGGAGE SYSTEMS ARE REALLY COMPLICATED TO, TO DEAL WITH. SO, UM, IT'S GONNA TAKE US A LITTLE BIT LONGER TO GET THE FOREIGN FLAGS IN THERE. UH, BUT THEN AGAIN, THAT'S GONNA REALLY HELP US FROM A TRAFFIC PERSPECTIVE BECAUSE OUR ONE REAL BIG CHALLENGE THAT WE'VE GOT AT BUSH RIGHT NOW IS, IS THAT, UM, THE SEA DEPARTURES RAMP.
