TODAY'S MEETING IS A PART OF THE 2024 MTFP FREEWAY, UH, PROCESS.
UH, THIS IS WHERE THE MT F, THE MTFP IS THE CITY'S LONG RANGE ANNUAL PROCESS TO REVIEW OUR LONG RANGE PLAN, UH, AS IT PROVIDES A SYSTEM OF THOROUGHFARES AND COLLECTORS TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL MOBILITY.
THIS YEAR WE HAVE SEVEN PROPOSED AMENDMENTS OF THE SEVEN, SIX ARE IN THE ETJ, ONE IS IN THE CITY OF HOUSTON.
OF THE SIX THAT ARE IN THE ETJ, ONE IS IN TWO COUNTIES.
UH, HARRIS AND MONTGOMERY THREE ARE IN HARRIS COUNTY, ONE IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY AND ONE IN FORT BEND COUNTY.
BEFORE USE OUR AGENDA, WE'LL GO OVER THIS YEAR'S TIMELINE AND WHERE WE ARE, UM, THEN THE APPLICANTS WILL PRESENT THEIR REQUEST.

PART OF THE SPECIFIC AREA THAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT IS WEST OF THE GRAND PARKWAY SOUTH OF TWO 90.
AND WE, UM, HAVE TWO AMENDMENTS TO DISCUSS THE REALIGNMENT OF A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE AND THE DELETION OF A MINOR COLLECTOR.
UM, SO THE FIRST REQUEST IS TO REALIGN THE, UM, ACTUALLY ONE MORE SLIDE PLEASE, OR TWO.
SO THE FIRST REQUEST IS THE REALIGNMENT OF TUCKERTON SLASH UNNAMED, UM, MAJOR THOROUGHFARE LOCATED WITHIN THE BRIDGELAND DEVELOPMENT, AND THEN ALSO PARTIALLY OUTSIDE OF THE BOUNDARY OF THE PROJECT.
UM, THE REQUEST TO REALIGN IT COMES FROM OUR WANTS TO ACTUALLY TIE INTO KATIE HAWKLEY ROAD.
THE CURRENT ALIGNMENT TAKES THE ROAD DIRECTLY THROUGH EXISTING SUBDIVIDED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY, AND BY RELOCATING IT FARTHER TO THE SOUTH, WE'LL BE ABLE TO TIE INTO KATIE HAWKLEY ROAD, WHICH WILL PROVIDE BETTER CONNECTIVITY FOR THE WHOLE PROJECT AND THE AREA AS A WHOLE.
AND THEN THE REASON IT EXTENDS FARTHER OUT PAST THE BOUNDARY IS SO THAT WE CAN MEET RADIUS AND TANGENT REQUIREMENTS PER CHAPTER 42.
SO IT'S JUST A SLIGHT REALIGNMENT, NOTHING MAJOR CHANGING ABOUT THE ROAD.
CAN WE, CAN WE GO BACK ONE? OKAY.
SO, AND THEN THE NEXT REQUEST IS TO REMOVE THE UNNAMED MINOR COLLECTOR THAT IS IN THE VERY SAME AREA AS OUR REQUEST TO REALIGN TUCKERTON ROAD.
UH, THE REASON FOR THE REALIGNMENT OR THE REMOVAL IS THIS ROAD WAS ADDED TO THE MAJOR THOROUGHFARE AND FREEWAY PLAN IN 2016.
UM, OBVIOUSLY HARVEY HAPPENED IN 2017 DRAINAGE REQUIREMENTS AND, UH, THE RESULT OF HARVEY HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED THE NEED FOR DETENTION AND HOW IT ALL WORKS IN THIS AREA.
SO THIS AREA NOW IS BEING PROPOSED AS A MAJOR OVERFLOW AREA FOR CYPRESS CREEK.
THERE HAVE BEEN, UH, THERE'S ONE DRAINAGE STUDY THAT'S BEEN APPROVED, AND THEN THERE'S AN ADJACENT DRAINAGE STUDY THAT'S CURRENTLY UNDER REVIEW WITH, UM, HARRIS COUNTY RIGHT NOW.
AND I BELIEVE THE CITY OF HOUSTON AS WELL THAT SUPPORTS THE NEED FOR THIS OVERFLOW AREA AND PUTTING A ROAD THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF AN OVERFLOW AREA KIND OF DEFEATS THE PURPOSE.
UM, SO THERE WILL BE NO RESIDENTIAL HOMES IN THE AREA.
IT'S PURELY FOR DRAINAGE AND DETENTION, AND THAT IS WHY WE ARE REQUESTING THE REMOVAL OF THE ROAD.
UH, CAN WE GO ONE MORE BACK TO THE, OH, ONE MORE TO THE LETTER.
OH, YES, THE, TO THE LETTER OF, SORRY.
UH, WE DO HAVE ONE LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS DIRECTLY OUTSIDE THE PROJECT BOUNDARY.

UH, THE, WE ARE HERE TO DISCUSS ABOUT THE CITY OF HOUSTON, MTFP 2024, UH, PLAN, UH, INVOLVING DEVELOPMENT OF WALNUT STREET INTO A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE AND CONNECTING IT TO THE FM 1314 AND, UH, MILLS ROAD INTERSECTION.
UM, BASED ON THE ORIGINAL PROPOSED ALIGNMENT AS CAN BE SEEN, UH, IT, IT, UH, IT PLANS TO CONNECT THE INTERSECTION OF WALNUT AND BALDWIN LANE TO THE FM 1314 AND MILL ROAD INTERSECTION AND DEVELOP THE ROAD INTO A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE.
THERE ARE THREE MAIN CONCERNS WITH THIS ORIGINAL ALIGNMENT.
ONE IS IT ADVERSELY AFFECTS PROPERTY OWNERS THROUGH THAT THIS ALIGNMENT GOES THROUGH SECONDLY, UH, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WITH THE EXISTING RIGHT OF WAY AND THE INFRASTRUCTURE IN PLACE.
AND THIRDLY, THE ALIGNMENT IS SKEWED OFF OF THE INTERSECTION, SO IT MIGHT NOT MAKE A PERFECT FOUR-WAY INTERSECTION.
UH, CONSIDERING THESE ARGUMENTS, UH, THE NEW ALIGNMENT THAT WE CA CAME UP WITH, IT'S AN ALTERNATIVE THAT WOULD ADDRESS SOME OF THESE C UH, CONCERNS HAD ON, UH, THE, UH, ALTERNATIVE, UH, IS THAT IT, IT IMPACTS THE LANDOWNERS.
UH, THE IMPACT ON THE LANDOWNERS WOULD BE MORE CONTROLLED AND PLANNED SINCE THE LAND ACQUISITION REQUIRED WOULD BE MORE STREAMLINED AND ONLY ACQUIRING FROM THE FRONTAGES OF THESE LANDS BEING AFFECTED.
B UH, THE EXISTING RIGHT OF WAY WOULD NEED TO BE WIDENED, BUT WILL BE USING THE EXISTING ROAD AND THE INFRASTRUCTURE, OF COURSE, DEVELOPING AND, UH, UH, ENGINEERING IT TO DRAIN THE PRO DRAIN THE PROPERTIES AND EVERYTHING EFFICIENTLY.
THIRDLY, IN THIS ALIGNMENT, THE, UH, FOUR INTERSECTION WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITH A MA MAJOR THOROUGHFARE.
UH, WE HAD, UH, EXTENSIVE DISCUSSIONS WITH THE LAND OWNERS AND THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY, UH, CONCRETE ANSWER ON THE FINAL, UH, ANSWER.
WE ARE YET AWAITING THE, UH, RESPONSE FROM THEM.
UH, IF, IF YOU HAVE ANY, UH, QUESTIONS.

HE MADE THAT PURCHASE WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF A ROAD BISECTING THAT LAND.
HE ACKNOWLEDGED AT A MEETING WITH MONTGOMERY COUNTY OFFICIALS ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 23RD, THAT HE AND HIS INVESTORS WERE AWARE OF THE RISK BEFORE THEY CLOSED ON THE PURCHASE.
EAST MONTGOMERY COUNTY IS HOME TO MANY LIFELONG RESIDENTS, SUCH AS MYSELF.
I DON'T APPRECIATE INVESTORS COMING INTO OUR COMMUNITY, TAKING CALCULATED RISKS, AND THEN TRYING TO PASS THAT RISK ONTO UNSUSPECTING RESIDENTS.
MY FAMILY HAS PAID PROPERTY TAXES ON THE MILLS ROAD PROPERTY IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY SINCE 1982.
IT IS UNFAIR TO EXPECT US TO GIVE UP PART OF OUR PROPERTY BECAUSE A DEVELOPER CHOOSES TO MAKE A RISKY PURCHASE, EVEN IF THE PROPOSED THOROUGH THOROUGHFARE NEVER COMES TO FRUITION.
OUR ABILITY TO SELL OUR PROPERTY IS COMPROMISED 'CAUSE WE MUST DISCLOSE THAT THE POSSIBILITY EXISTS FOR PART OF THE PROPERTY TO BE USED AS A SIX LANE HIGHWAY.
FOR THAT REASON, I REQUEST THE PROPOSED AMENDED ROUTE BE DENIED.
WHEN A TAXPAYER HAS PAID PROPERTY TAXES FOR 40 PLUS YEARS ON A PIECE OF PROPERTY, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT AN INVESTOR OR DEVELOPER COMING IN AND TRYING TO TAKE AWAY THEIR PEACE OF MIND AND GENERATIONS OF FAMILY INVESTMENT.

WE HAVE BEEN PAYING PROPERTY TAXES ON THE LAND THAT WE, SO THAT WE BOUGHT THAT WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BUILD IN THERE.
WE HAVE, UM, IN THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING IS A BRICK BUILDING, AND THEN ON THE BACK IS THE METAL BUILDINGS FOR MANY STORAGE IN THE FRONT.
WE HAVE A LOT OF INVESTMENT IN THERE FOR PEOPLE THAT DON'T EVEN KNOW THE DYNAMICS OF THIS COUNTRY TO COME AND TRY TO GET AMENDMENTS ON, ON DECISIONS THAT THEY MADE WHEN THEY PURCHASED THE LAND.
THEY KNEW THAT THAT PARTICULAR LINE WAS GONNA BE, UH, UM, A SITUATION THAT COULD BE RE THAT, THAT IT COULD BE USED.
BUT THEN THEY WANT TO COME AND REDIRECT THE PLAN THAT THE CITY HAS FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT.
THEY'RE NOT, THEY'RE, THEY'RE NOT THINKING ABOUT EXISTING BUSINESS FAMILIES AND WE'RE NOT TALKING JUST ABOUT LAND, WE'RE TALKING ABOUT OUR LIFESTYLE OF LIVING THERE.
SO, UM, THE ROAD IS, WE CAN BARELY HAVE TWO CARS GOING IN THERE.
YOU KNOW, WHEN ONE CAR IS COMING, WE REALLY HAVE TO SWITCH TO ONE SIDE FOR THE OTHER CAR TO COME IN.
SO PRACTICALLY WITH THAT AMENDMENT THAT THEY'RE ASKING FOR, THEY'RE KNOCKING DOWN AND THEY'RE GOING INTO OUR LIVING ROOMS. THEY'RE GOING INTO MY OFFICE, THEY'RE KNOCKING DOWN HALF OF MY PROPERTY THAT I INVESTED.

WE'VE BEEN AROUND FOR ABOUT 30 YEARS, PROTECTING A LARGE IMPORTANT ECOSYSTEM ON THE WEST SIDE, STRADDLING HARRISON WALLER COUNTY PARTISAN, THE HOUSTON ETJ, AND MOST OF IT IS NOT IN THE HOUSTON ETJ.
COASTAL PRAIRIE CONSERVANCY OBJECTS TO AMENDMENT A AT LEAST THE LITTLE PORTION AT THE VERY END THAT WAS NOT MENTIONED IN THE LETTER TO, UM, IMPACT THE, UM, THE PRESERVE LANDS.
COASTAL PRAIRIE CONSERVANCY IS THE 100% OWNER OF THE LAND IMMEDIATELY TO THE NORTH OF THE VERY WESTERN REALIGNMENT.
THAT REALIGNMENT FROM MY, UH, LOOKS WOULD ACTUALLY BE IN THE MIDDLE OF, BETWEEN THE TWO PROPERTY OWNERS.
AND WHILE THE SOUTHERN PROPERTY OWNER MAY HAVE APPROVED THIS, UM, NOBODY HAS CONSULTED WITH US.
UH, THANK GOODNESS WE FINALLY SAW THE NOTICE IN THE MAIL AND WERE ABLE TO, UM, COME HERE AND DESCRIBE IT.
BUT THIS WOULD IMPACT LANDS THAT WERE PURCHASED USING FEDERAL FUNDS, PRIVATE FILLING TRAPPY.

UH, WE CONTINUE TO, UM, STATE THAT THE KATY PRAIRIE PRESERVE SHOULD BE TREATED AS A WILDLIFE SANCTUARY.
ANY ROADS THROUGH THE PRESERVE SHOULD NOT BE MAJOR THOROUGH FEARS, BUT SHOULD BE ONLY FOR LOCAL ACCESS.
WINDY, SLOW SPEEDS, NOT A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE.
SO WE WOULD ASK THAT THE ENGINEERS AND THE, UM, COUNCIL CONSIDER LOOKING AT THAT AND SEEING WHY DO WE HAVE A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE THAT'S NOT REALLY GOING ANYWHERE.

SO THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO DO A DOWNGRADE.
WE'RE ASKING TO DOWNGRADE TO A MAJOR COLLECTOR, UM, BECAUSE AT THIS POINT IT'S NOT CARRYING ANY MORE REGIONAL TRAFFIC, IT'S JUST CARRYING TRAFFIC WITHIN THIS SPECIFIC NEIGHBORHOOD THAT'S DEVELOPING AROUND IT.
UM, IT'S STILL GONNA CONNECT FROM POINT A TO POINT B, BUT IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE AS BIG AS A REGIONAL THOROUGHFARE WOULD NORMALLY HAVE TO BE.
SO, UM, THE REQUEST THAT WE'VE ASKED FOR IS ABOUT A LITTLE OVER A MILE.
IT GOES FROM 1464 ON THE EAST SIDE OF THIS SLIDE TO HARLEM ROAD ON THE WEST SIDE.

IT GOES FROM EXISTING 1464 IN THE EAST TO HARLEM ROAD ON THE WEST.
A PORTION OF THE THOROUGHFARE ALREADY EXISTS.
IT HAS BEEN BUILT IN THE MISSION TRACE NEIGHBORHOOD, WHICH IS NORTHEAST OF THE TRILLION PROJECT, WHICH IS CENTERED ON THE PAGE.
WE'RE NOT PROPOSING TO CHANGE THE PAVING, WE'RE NOT GONNA AFFECT ANYTHING THAT'S ALREADY BEEN BUILT.
WE RIGHT OF WAY AND THAT PAVING WILL STAY IN PLACE.
WE'RE JUST DOWNGRADING IT ON PAPER BECAUSE THE REST OF THE ROAD STILL IS YET TO BE BUILT AND THAT PORTION WE FEEL WOULD BE APPROPRIATE TO DOWNGRADE.
BUT BECAUSE IT'S BETTER TO AMEND A THOROUGHFARE FROM INTERSECTION TO INTERSECTION, THAT'S WHY WE GO ALL THE WAY OUT TO 1464.
ONE OF THE OTHER REASONS THAT WE NEED TO AMEND THIS ROAD IS BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE THE ROAD KIND OF WINDS DOWN AND THEN COMES BACK UP.
WE'RE TRYING TO GET IN BETWEEN SOME TOWERS FOR SOME REGIONAL TRANSMISSION LINES FOR CENTER POINT THAT ARE GOING TO THAT STATION ON THE FAR WEST SIDE.
SO GETTING THAT CURVATURE TO WORK WITH A MAJOR THOROUGHFARE WITH A 2000 FOOT RADIUS IS PRETTY CHALLENGING.
UM, WE MADE IT WORK ON THE EAST SIDE BECAUSE IT ALREADY EXISTED.
CENTERPOINT KINDA LET US GET AWAY WITH IT, BUT ON THE WEST SIDE WE'VE ALREADY TALKED WITH THEM AND THEY SAID THE SWEEPING CURVE WHERE THE 2000 FOOT RADIUS IS NOT GONNA FLY.
SO WE NEED TO HAVE TIGHTER RADII.
WE NEED TO HAVE A LITTLE MORE FLEXIBILITY IN HOW THAT ROAD IS ORIENTED SO THAT WE CAN GET AROUND THOSE TOWERS AT AS CLOSE TO A RIGHT ANGLE AS POSSIBLE AND GET BACK TO HARLEM ROAD ON THE WEST.
SO THIS AERIAL SHOWS THE SAME SPACE, BUT YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE TRILLIUM DEVELOPMENT HAS STARTED TO DEVELOP ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE.
WE'RE JUST GETTING INTO THE AREA WHERE BISSONET STREET IS NOW.
UM, SO FORT BEND COUNTY HAS ALREADY APPROVED THIS CHANGE ON THEIR MAP.
THIS ROAD HAS ALREADY BEEN RECLASSIFIED AS A COLLECTOR STREET THAT HAPPENED IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR.

UH, IT WOULD IMPACT THE ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS CAUSE TRAFFIC CONGESTION, HUH? POSITION OR SUPPORT? NO, THEY HAD UNANIMOUS SUPPORT.
SO IT, AND ALSO IT WOULD BISECT THE LARGEST CONTINUOUS GREENWAY IN LITERALLY THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

THE REQUESTED REALIGNMENT OF THE MAJOR THOROUGH FIELD WILL PROVIDE THE SAME CONNECTIVITY THROUGHOUT THE TRACK AS PROPOSED BY THE CURRENT MTFP.
THE CITY'S ALIGNMENT IS REPRESENTED BY THE HOLLOW CIRCLES ACROSS THE TOP OF THE SLIDE.

AND THE REASON THAT WE'RE ASKING FOR THIS RECLASSIFICATION IS FOR SAFETY REASONS AND SPEED REASONS.
UM, WE HAVE TO HAVE IT RECLASSIFIED TO REQUEST SPEED BUMPS.
UM, ONE OF THE REASONS THAT WE'RE ASKING TO RECLASSIFY THIS ROAD IS, UM, SINCE I ACTUALLY MOVED, UM, TO MY HOME, WHICH IS,

UM, CLOSER TO THE PARK.UH, THANKFULLY IT'S NEVER BEEN HIT, BUT I'VE WITNESSED PERSONALLY, UH, 14 CRASHES ON THIS ROAD DUE TO HIGH SPEEDS AND THAT HAIRPIN TURN THAT THEY ACTUALLY, YOU SAW, UM, GOING TO STUA WOOD BETWEEN THE PARK.
UM, AND, UH, I'M GOING TO ACTUALLY SHOW YOU A COUPLE OF SLIDES OF THE DAMAGE OF THE HOMES IN THE AREA.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE SOME OF THE HOMEOWNERS HERE TO SUPPORT.
UM, BUT WITH ALL OF THESE WRECKS, AND AS I WAS TALKING TO SOME OF THE HOMEOWNERS, SOME OF THEM GO BACK TO 1977, THEY SAY THIS CURVE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM.
UM, ONE OF THE, THE WORST CASES WAS ACTUALLY JUNE 12TH, AND THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A, A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT ONE O'CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON.
AGAIN, THIS IS A DIRECT ACCESS TO STUDENT PARK, WHICH IS ONE OF THE BIGGER PARKS IN HOUSTON, UM, ESPECIALLY IN THE HEIGHTS AREA.
UM, A CAR CAME AROUND THAT CURB SO FAST THAT IT FLIPPED LOST CONTROL, FLIPPED HIT.
THIS HOUSE THAT YOU SEE THE BLUE TARP ON, UM, ACTUALLY CAUSED A, A FEW HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF DAMAGE.
THANKFULLY, THE RESIDENTS AT THAT TIME WERE IN THE BACK ROOM AND WERE NOT HURT.
UH, I BELIEVE THE DRIVER WAS PULLED OUT AND HE, IF NOT ALREADY WAS A PARAPLEGIC.
UM, SO THIS IS A, A VERY SERIOUS TRA UH, CRASH WITH PEOPLE GOING AT VERY HIGH SPEEDS.
SO AGAIN, THE, THE REASON FOR THIS REQUEST IS FOR SAFETY CONCERNS AND TO PRESERVE OUR PROPERTIES AS WELL AS HUMAN LIFE.
UM, ACTUALLY THE, THE CRASH WAS SO BAD.
UM, CHANNEL TWO DID A STORY ON IT AND CAME OUT AND TALKED TO ALL OF US, UM, 'CAUSE THEY JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE WAS GOING THAT FAST AROUND A CURVE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD.
ONE OF THE, THE NEXT SLIDES, UM, THIS IS RIGHT NEXT TOSTA PARK.
YOU CAN SEE THAT THE RECOMMENDED SPEED LIMIT IS 20 MILES PER HOUR.
UM, A LOT OF PEOPLE GO AROUND THAT CURVE GOING 40, 50 AND 60 MILES AN HOUR.
YOU WOULDN'T EVEN BELIEVE THAT THEY COULD GET THAT FAST, UH, OR GO THAT FAST.
THEY, THEY ROLL THE STOP SIGN AND THEN THEY JUST COME AROUND THE CORNER.
AND, UM, MY HOUSE IS, IS TWO OVER AND THIS TOTALED TWO CARS.
THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS STANDING THERE OR ABOUT TO CROSS THE ROAD TO GO INTO THE PARK.
THERE WERE TWO CARS IN THE DRIVEWAY.
AS YOU CAN SEE, THAT IS A, A BIG STILL GATE.
AGAIN, PEOPLE COMING AROUND AT SUCH HIGH SPEEDS, UM, THAT IT TOOK OUT THAT ENTIRE GATE AND TOTALED TWO CARS INSIDE THAT HOMEOWNER'S DRIVEWAY.
UM, AND ALL OF THESE HAVE THE DATES, UH, AND AGAIN, I'M JUST HIGHLIGHTING A COUPLE OF THEM.
UM, AND THE NEXT SLIDE PLEASE.
THANKFULLY, I HAVE TWO HUGE OAKS IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, SO MINE'S A LITTLE BIT PROTECTED.
UM, THIS, THIS HAPPENED, I, I THINK IT WAS LIKE TWO O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, SOMEONE COMING AROUND THE CORNER AGAIN AT SUCH HIGH SPEEDS, UH, THAT THEY TOOK OUT MY NEIGHBOR'S FENCE, UM, AND ACTUALLY HIT THE HOUSE.
UH, THE PEOPLE ABANDONED THE CAR AND THE POLICE WERE THERE FOR HOURS, UM, CAUSED A LOT OF DAMAGE TO THAT HOUSE.
THIS SAME HOUSE, UH, JUST LAST YEAR, SOMEONE WAS COMING AROUND THE CORNER SO QUICKLY, THE HOMEOWNER IN A HUGE TRUCK.
UM, ONE OF THE REALLY BIG EXTENDED CAB ONES WAS PULLING OUT AND SOMEONE WAS COMING AROUND THE CORNER SO FAST HIT HIM, IT LIKE DISABLED THE, THE BRAKES HIT HIM SO HARD.
HE CAME BACK UP HIS DRIVEWAY AND TOTALED TWO CARS IN HIS GARAGE AND WENT THROUGH THE BACK PART OF THE GARAGE AGAIN BECAUSE SOMEONE WAS COMING AROUND.
THIS CURB SO FAST TOTALED THE, THE PERSON THAT HIT HIM, MY NEIGHBOR'S TRUCK, THE CAR IN THE GARAGE AND WENT OUT THE OTHER END OF THE GARAGE.
UM, SO AGAIN, THESE HIGH SPEEDS, UM, IT'S JUST UNSAFE.
UM, UH, I, WE CAN GO ON AND ON WITH COUNT COUNTLESS WRECKS.
UM, AND AGAIN, THE PARK ACCESS RIGHT THERE, IT'S JUST EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
UM, WE'RE VERY LUCKY THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED ON THIS CURB.
AND IF WE CAN GET THIS ROAD, UM, RECLASSIFIED, THEN WE CAN ADD SOME SPEED BUMPS AND HOPEFULLY SAVE SOME LIVES.
SO THIS IS AN APPLICATION THAT I ACTUALLY PUT IN, UM, FOR SPEED BUMPS.
AND YOU CAN SEE ALMOST EVERY RESIDENT ON THAT CORNER SIGNED IT AND IS ALL FOR THIS RECLASSIFICATION.
AND THE SPEED BUMPS, EVEN WHEN WE HAD THE PUBLIC HEARING, A LOT OF RESIDENTS JUMPED ON AND SAID, YES, ABSOLUTELY, PLEASE, PLEASE HAVE THEM ADD SPEED BUMPS ALL THE WAY UP TO STU WOOD, GO DOWN WHITE OAK DRIVE.
UM, WE'RE VERY HAPPY TO HAVE ALL OF THEM.
UM, THIS IS ACTUALLY EVEN A, A LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM COUNCIL MEMBER, MEMBER CASTILLO.
UM, HE LIVES IN THE AREA AND OBVIOUSLY, UM, KNOWS THE AREA VERY WELL.
AND ONE OF THE, THE CRAZY THINGS ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS TOLD ME WAS THAT THIS, THIS CURVE HAS BEEN SUCH AN AREA OF CONTENTION FOR SO LONG THAT EVEN MAR MARVIN LER, THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER HIM REPORTED ON, UH, THIS IS LIKE, YOU KNOW, THE DEATH CURVE OF WHITE OAK DRIVE.
UM, AND WE KNOW HOW ANIMATED HE COULD BE.
AND, UH, UNFORTUNATELY STILL NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE, YOU KNOW, IN 30, 40 YEARS.

UM, SO THAT'S THE, THE LETTER OF THE SUPPORT FROM THE BLOOMS. UM, AND THE NEXT SLIDE, I BELIEVE WE ALSO HAVE ANOTHER LETTER OF SUPPORT FROM, UH, ANOTHER OWNER THAT IS ACTUALLY ON THAT CURB.

AND ONE OF THOSE WRECKS ACTUALLY TOOK OUT TWO OF HER BIG, BEAUTIFUL, UM, WHITE OAKS, OR THEY WEREN'T WHITE OAKS, BUT SOME TYPE OF OAKS AND SHE HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED.
UM, ANOTHER HOMEOWNER THAT'S HERE TO SUPPORT, HE HAS A HUGE BRICK WALL BUILT AROUND HIS HOUSE, UM, BECAUSE CARS HAVE HIT HIS HOME BEFORE AND HE'S HERE IF HE WANTS TO SPEAK AS WELL.
UM, SO AGAIN, IT'S A SIMPLE RECLASSIFICATION, UM, FROM A MAJOR OR A MINOR COLLECTOR, A MAJOR COLLECTOR TO A MINOR COLLECTOR FOR THAT STRETCH IN BETWEEN ENER AND UM, STUMO ON WHITE OAK DRIVE.
AGAIN, FOR SAFETY REASONS TO HOPEFULLY PROCEED WITH SPEED BUMPS TO KEEP US ALL SAFE.
