THIS MEETING IS BEING HELD IN HYBRID MODE IN PERSON AND VIRTUAL, AND WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

THE CHAIR IS PRESIDING OFFICER OF THE COMMITTEE AND WILL BE PHYSICALLY PRESENT IN THE CHAMBER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 5 51 0.127 OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE APPLICABLE TO THE GOVERNMENTAL BODY THAT EXTENDS INTO THREE OR MORE COUNTIES.

YES, UH, MR. CHAIR, COUNCIL MEMBERS, MEMBERS OF STAFF, OF COUNCIL MEMBERS, UM, WE'RE VERY HAPPY TO BE HERE THIS AFTERNOON, UM, TO PRESENT TWO, UM, ITEMS. ONE, THE FIRST, WHICH IS THE I TRIP UPDATE.

IT IS A QUARTERLY STANDARD, UM, PRESENTATION THAT WE DO EVERY QUARTER.

WE'VE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS.

WE'RE VERY, VERY PROUD, AND WE WANNA SHOW YOU IN PHOTO AND IN LANGUAGE, UM, THE PROGRESS THAT'S BEEN MADE, UM, TO MAKE THAT PRESENTATION.

WE HAVE, OF COURSE, STEVE ANDERSON, OUR EXECUTIVE PROGRAM MANAGER, THAT THAT LEADS, UM, THE IHR PROGRAM.

AND WITH HIM, WE HAVE THE ACTUAL, UH, UH, PROP PROGRAM DIRECTOR, LEAD PROGRAM DIRECTOR, UM, KHALID WAN KHALE, WHO IS ACTUALLY DOING THE DAY-TO-DAY RUNNING OF THE, OF THE, UH, PROGRAM.

BUT IT IS, IT HAS TO DO WITH ENVIRONMENTAL, UM, RESPONSIBILITY, UH, ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY.

IT IS ONE OF THE STRATEGIC, UM, PROJECTS OR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES, PRIORITIES THAT WE HAVE IN OUR STRATEGIC PLAN, WHICH IS TO BE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT.

UM, AND WE NOW HAVE TAKEN SUFFICIENT ACTIONS, AND WE THINK WE HAVE A BODY OF, OF INFORMATION, UM, TO SHARE WITH YOU THAT I THINK IS, YOU'RE GONNA FIND VERY, VERY IMPRESSIVE.

UM, AND AS I SAY ALONG THE WAY, WE WILL, UM, IN BRIEF YOU ON THESE AS WE ON THIS SUBJECT AS WE MAKE FURTHER PROGRESS.

AND SO, JUST TO, UH, REMIND EVERYBODY WHAT I, TRIPP IS I, TRIPP IS THE IH TERMINAL REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM, UH, PREDOMINANTLY AROUND EXPANDING OUR INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL.

UM, IT'S MADE UP OF TWO MAJOR PROJECTS AND A NUMBER OF ENABLING PROJECTS.

IT COMMENCED EARLY ON WITH THE NEW C NORTH CONSTRUCTION, WHICH WAS UNITED PROJECT THAT ENABLED US TO, UH, TAKE OVER SOME OLD UNITED SPACE TO CREATE THE NEW INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL.

UH, WE HAVE, UH, THE IDO, THE INFRASTRUCTURE DIVISION BUILDING THAT WE CONSTRUCTED.

WE HAVE AN ENABLING, UH, PROJECT AROUND A DETENTION POND THAT WE'VE COMPLETED.

WE HAD TO RELOCATE A RADIO CONTROL TILE.

UM, AND THAT WAS COMPLETE.

AND THEN WE HAVE AN ONGOING ENABLING UTILITIES PROJECT, WHICH IS AROUND THE WATER DISTRIBUTION FOR THE CENTRAL TERMINAL AREA.

AND, UM, I'VE GOT A SLIDE ON THAT, SO I'LL BRIEF HERE, BUT MORE.

AND THEN, UM, OUR TWO JOULES, THE, UH, REFURBISHMENT AND UPGRADE OF TERMINAL D, THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW, UH, CONCOURSE, AS WELL AS THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL, A NEW PROCESSOR THAT IS GONNA BE PRETTY MAGNIFICENT.

AND SO YOU'LL SEE SOME GREAT PROGRESS THAT WE'VE MADE THERE.

AND SO, JUST IN TERMS OF COMING THE KEY UPSTANDING UPCOMING MILESTONES, UH, THE PROJECT STILL REMAINS AT 1.43 BILLION.

UH, NO CHANGE TO THE BUDGET THERE, UH, WITH THE, UM, INTERNATIONAL, UM, DEPARTURES OR AREA OF TERMINAL DE REFURBISHMENT SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLETE.

SO WE'RE ABOUT 95% COMPLETE THERE, UH, WITH THE NEW CONCOURSE, UH, OPENING IN THE EARLY PART OF NEXT YEAR.

UM, AND THEN AT THE END OF NEXT YEAR, WE'LL BE OPENING OUR NEW INTERNATIONAL CENTRAL PROCESS.

SO, VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

WITH THE AIRLINES MOVING IN, IN THE, UM, IN TERMINAL D AIRLINES MOVING IN, IN THE BEGINNING PART OF 2025, WE ALSO HAVE THE ADDITIONAL TWO PARKING LEVELS THAT WE'VE CONSTRUCTED TO REPLACE SOME OF THE LOST PARKING, AND THOSE WILL BE OPENING IN THE BEGINNING OF NEXT YEAR.

VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT, AND WE THINK IT'LL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE TO OUR PASSENGERS.

UH, NEXT SLIDE PLEASE.

SO, JUST SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WE WILL BE OPENING.

UM, IN TERMS OF THE NEW DECOMPLEX, WE'LL HAVE ALL NEW FINISHES AND FIXTURES, NEW FLOORING WITH LED LIGHTING AND CEILING, UM, NEW STATE OF THE ART AIR FILTRATION SYSTEMS THAT USES THE PCO, UH, PHOTO CATALYTIC OXIDATION AND UV AIR PURIFICATION TECHNIQUES, UH, WITH NEW FURNITURE, NEW SEATING, AND NEW GATE ENTRANCES AND COUNTERS.

AS FAR AS THE NEW, UH, CONCOURSE, IT'LL BE A LEAD SILVER EQUIVALENT DESIGN TERMINAL WITH NEW FURNITURE.

ALSO, STATE OF THE ART AIR FILTRATION.

IT'LL BE A REALLY BRIGHT, AIRY SPACE, UH, WITH SOME EXCELLENT AND AMAZING, UH, IMMERSIVE ART INSTALLATIONS.

AND WE'VE GOT SOME OF THE PROGRESS THAT YOU'LL SEE IN SOME OF THOSE.

IT'S, LOOK, IT'S LOOKING REALLY GOOD.

AND THEN OUR, YOU KNOW, OUR JEWEL, THE NEW CENTRAL PROCESSOR, WHICH WILL BE WHERE ALL OUR INTERNATIONAL PART, UH, PARTNERS AND PASSENGERS WILL DEPART AND ARRIVE FROM.

IT'LL ALSO BE LEAD SILVER EQUIVALENT.

IT'LL HAVE A NEW STATE OF THE ART TICKETING HALL WITH SELF-SERVICE BAG DROP TECHNOLOGY.

IT'LL HAVE ONE OF THE LARGEST SECURITY CHECKPOINT LANES OF 17 LANES.

UM, IT'LL HAVE A PRETTY AMAZING OCULUS FEATURE WITH SOME, UH, DIGITAL GRAPHICS.

UH, IT'LL HAVE A, AN OPEN CONCEPT FEELING IN THE TICKETING AND ARRIVALS HALL WITH, AGAIN, GREAT ART INSTALLATION.

SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT WHAT, WHAT'S GONNA BE COMING IN OPEN TO OUR PASSENGERS, UH, OVER THE NEXT YEAR AND A HALF.

AND THEN WE HAD A, A HUGE TOPPING OUT AND, AND SAFETY CELEBRATION, UM, IN OUR NEW CENTRAL PROCESS, UH, WHERE WE LIFTED, UH, THE TALLEST BEAM, UH, THAT BIG, UH, WHITE BEAM WITH THE FLAG, UH, THAT, THAT THE, EVERYONE GOT AN OPPORTUNITY TO SIGN.

AND SO THAT WAS A GREAT EVENT THAT HAPPENED, UH, A WEEK AND A BIT AGO.

SO, VERY EXCITED FOR THE PROGRESS THAT'S HAPPENING.

UM, SO AGAIN, WE HAVE COMPLETED LEVEL ONE AND WE'RE WORKING ON LEVEL TWO.

UM, OUR STAFF IS DOING A GREAT JOB, UH, DOING THAT.

UH, IF WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT THE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS FOR THE AIRPORT IS, IT'S, IT'S, A LOT OF IT HAS STARTED, UM, BASED ON A 2018 SUSTAINABILITY PLAN THAT WE DID FOR THE AIRPORT SYSTEM.

AND SO WE'VE GOT DATA FROM 2019 AS KIND OF LIKE OUR BASE HERE.

UM, WE'VE ALREADY BEEN ABLE TO ACHIEVE A LOT OF REDUCTIONS IN GREENHOUSE GASES AT THE AIRPORT, UM, USING SOME PROJECTS THAT WE'VE COMPLETED IN OUR IMPLEMENTING.

UM, SO THE GOOD THING IS IF YOU LOOK AT 20, UH, 19 VERSUS 2021, AT IH, WE'RE ALREADY DOWN 20, UH, 2%.

SO THAT AREA IN THE WHITE.

UM, AND THE AREA IN THE WHITE IS BASICALLY OUR GREENHOUSE GAS, UH, EMISSIONS.

BUT TO THE RIGHT OF IT IS THE GREEN AREA.

AND SO, BECAUSE OF THE CITY'S PROGRAM THAT BUYS THE OFFSET CARBON OFFSETS, UH, FOR ELECTRICITY USED IN CITY FACILITIES, UM, WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO REDUCE OUR GREENHOUSE GASES, UH, UH, YOU THE EFFECTIVE GREENHOUSE GASES THAT WE PUT OUT, UH, EVEN MORE BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THOSE OFFSETS REALLY HELP US, UH, REDUCE OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT ON THERE.

UM, AGAIN, WHAT WE'RE SEEING RIGHT NOW IS AGAIN, THAT THAT REDUCTION IN GREENHOUSE GASES IS, IS DRIVEN BY WHAT WE'VE DONE FROM AN ENERGY, ENERGY EFFICIENCY PERSPECTIVE.

UM, THE KIND OF DRIVERS THAT WE'VE GOT LEFT THAT WE'RE REALLY WORKING ON IS OUR, UH, VEHICLE FLEET, AND THEN ALSO OUR, UH, AIR HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING.

UM, A LOT OF, UH, LIGHTING EFFICIENCIES, UPGRADES THAT WE'VE DONE, PARTICULARLY SWITCHING A LOT STUFF TO LED.

UM, AGAIN, DONE SOME CHANGES IN OUR PUMPS AND OUR DRIVES FOR OUR BAGGAGE SYSTEMS AND FOR OUR WATER SYSTEMS. SO ALL THOSE THINGS CONTINUE TO ADD UP.

IN ADDITION TO THIS, YOU KNOW, WE, AGAIN, THIS, THIS IS BASED ON THAT 20 18, 20 19, UM, PROJECT LIST THAT WE KIND OF STARTED IMPLEMENTING.

WE'VE ALSO BEEN GOING FROM A FUTURE PERSPECTIVE TO TRY AND SECURE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THAT.

AND SO I'M HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THE, UH, FAA WE, WE APPLIED FOR $12 MILLION WORTH OF GRANT FUNDING FOR ADDITIONAL, UM, UH, SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS.

AND WE'VE BEEN GRANTED THAT $12 MILLION FROM THE FAA.

UM, SO AT INTERCONTINENTAL IT'S ABOUT $10 MILLION WE'LL BE SPENDING.

UH, THAT'S AN INCLUDING THE, UH, REPLACEMENT OF OUR SOUTH AIRFIELD ELECTRICAL VAULT AND, AND THE, UH, THE GENERATORS THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH IT.

UM, AND THEN WE'RE ALSO GONNA HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO AN ENERGY AUDIT AND THEN A RESILIENCY AUDIT TOO, UM, SO THAT WE HAVE A RESILIENCY MASTER PLAN, ACTUALLY.

SO, AGAIN, WE'VE GOT THAT, THAT, THAT, UM, SUSTAINABILITY RESILIENCY COMPONENT WORKING TOGETHER AT HOBBY.

IT'S ABOUT $2 MILLION IN GRANT FUNDING OVER THERE.

AND THAT'S AGAIN, FOR, UH, SUSTAINABILITY, UM, YOU KNOW, AUDIT OF OUR FACILITIES, UH, AND THEN ALSO FOR A RESILIENCY MASTER PLAN THERE.

UM, SO AGAIN, WE CONTINUE TO, TO GO FORWARD ON THAT.

UH, THE OTHER THING I WOULD MENTION ON THIS TOO, FROM A CITY COUNCIL PERSPECTIVE, AS WE ARE HERE IN THE INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE, UH, WE WILL BE COMING TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN A VERY, UM, VERY SHORT ORDER WITH A, A, A PROJECT TO REDO THE, UH, AND MODERNIZE THE CUP AT IAH.

UM, SO THAT, AGAIN, WILL HELP US DRIVE DOWN OUR GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS.

RIGHT NOW, THE CENTRAL UTILITY PLANT AT, AT IAH HAS A, UM, HAS TWO GAS, UH, POWERED CHILLERS.

UM, AND SO WE'LL BE REPLACING THOSE WITH ELECTRIC CHILLERS.

SO THAT WILL TAKE A LOT OF OUR GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS DOWN,

UH, BECAUSE WE CAN SWITCH THE ELECTRIC, AND THEN OBVIOUSLY WITH THE CARBON OFFSETS, UH, THAT REALLY HELPS REDUCE THE, UH, THE OUTPUT THERE.

UM, AND THEN AGAIN, FROM A FLEET PERSPECTIVE FOR THE AIRPORT SYSTEM, UH, WE ARE GOING FOR A, UH, ELECTRIC FLEET.

AND SO WE DO HAVE, UH, AN ORDER FOR RIGHT NOW FOR 25 OF THE, UH, FORD LIGHTNINGS TO BE ABLE TO CONVERT THOSE, UH, AND GET RID OF SOME OF OUR LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS, UH, AND CONTINUE AGAIN TO, TO ADD ELECTRIC VEHICLES TO OUR FLEET, UH, WHERE POSSIBLE, UM, FOR THE TRAVELING PUBLIC, WE DO HAVE, UM, ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING, UH, FACILITIES IN ALL OF OUR PARKING LOTS.

SO ALL OF THEM HAVE SOME FORM OF ELECTRIC CHARGING, UH, FOR THE CUSTOMERS.

AND THEN ADDITIONALLY, IN IAH WE ARE, UH, FORTUNATE THAT OUR NEIGHBORS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET HAVE JUST INSTALLED, UH, A, UH, TESLA SUPERCHARGING STATION.

UM, SO THAT'LL MAKE IT MUCH CONV, MUCH MORE CONVENIENT TO BE ABLE TO CHARGE, UH, VEHICLES IN AND AROUND.

I'M THINKING ABOUT SOME OF THOSE TSS THAT WE'VE ALREADY TALKED ABOUT, LIVING INTO THEIR EXPECTED LIFETIME WHEN THEY MIGHT ROLL OFF THE BOOKS SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE.
